Scents evoke feelings and wake up memories unlike any other of the senses. Let us create a scent as unique as you. We will create a scent just for you, evoking your personality and your story. When your unique smell fills the room, it will transport people back to that magical moment in time. Your scent is worth 1,000 words, and we will the right combination of words to tell your scent story. We not only create a unique scent for you, but we also write your "scent story" based on what you want your fragrance to say about you. You name your scent and tell us about you, or create an alert ego for your fragrance. We create the scent, label, capture its essence and write a story about it. Your scent. Your story.
At Ayla & Atticus, we create a personal fragrance that tells your story. It's a perfect way to be remembered forever. We also want to share our story and the story of others. We have created two signature scents and sharing our stories.
These two beautiful and widely different scents are both unisex. You can make our scents a part of your life. The best way to tell Ayla & Atticus' story is to share it with them.
Our Process
Our goal is to use all your scenes, experiences and sweetest memories to create your scent. The way we do that is to send you on a scent journey and have you take us along by sharing your experience. Firstly we send you samples of 12 scents created to represent all the notes you find in fragrances. Along with the sample scents, we include a way to record your journey and share it with us. The second step is a short survey we ask you to help us create your scent and story. Lastly, we take all the information you provided us, and we create your scent. Our scents, including Ayla & Atticus, are made fresh to order.
We try to be kind
We want to create beautiful fragrances, and we want to do it safely and kindly. Our fragrances and ingredients are never tested on animals. We only work with suppliers who do not test on animals. We want to create something safe and healthy for us all.
We try to be kind to mother nature. Our bottles are glass, and if you send us your empty one, we will refill it for you at a discount. We use eco-friendly materials.

Asia crafted my first custom perfume and she created something so unique and sophisticated. Sheâs very intentional with the processâone of the aspects that I appreciated most was how when she sends you samples to rate, theyâre only labeled with numbers so you truly get a feel for each note without being primed by other factors. Because of this, I was able to receive a scent with notes I wouldnât immediately gravitate towards and I definitely wouldnât have chosen them first had I seen them in another store. With her survey, you have the freedom to truly express yourself in order for Asia to create her âstoryâ for your scent. I was vague yet fairly detailed with my descriptions and wasnât sure if sheâd be able to pin down what I was trying to expressâshe pulled it off perfectly and managed to take my tangled thoughts and make something that exceeded my expectations! What we use to create our scents
We do our best to create a very high-quality product. We, Ayla & Atticus, have chosen to go the extra mile to create beautiful fragrances for you. Our fragrances are handmade, and we chose ingredients we feel good about. Trust and transparency are important, so we want you to know what goes into creating all our scents. All our fragrances are original. we do not base them on any perfumes. Your custom scent will be created from scratch based on the notes you choose. it is 100% Original.
Perfume Alcohol
Perfumery Alcohol liquid is an additive specially denatured alcohol 200 proof (SDA) 40B. SD alcohol has additives, namely bitrex, which is odourless but renders the alcohol undrinkable.
Carrier Oil
We use Sweet Almont Oil. Carrier oils and essential oils are made from plants. Carrier oils are used to dilute scent oils and âcarryâ them to your skin.
Essential Oils
Essential oils are compounds extracted from plants. The oils capture the plantâs scent and flavour, or âessence. âUnique aromatic compounds give each essential oil its characteristic essence.
Absolutes
Absolutes are exotic oils that are similar to Essential Oils, but because these essences are so minute in the plant part, they are much more difficult to extract. Their chemistry is so fragile that the method of extracting them is much more complex. Their fragrances are also much more concentrated.
Attars
Attar is distinct from Essential Oil is the naturally extracted and pure fragrance essential oils that are extracted from flowers, herbs, roots, barks, leaves, roots, and other botanical sources and parts of plants These are highly constated and potent. Attars such as agarwood attar.
Fragrance Oils
Fragrance oils are manufactured scents. They are artificially created fragrances and they contain artificial substances. A lot of the scents we love cannot be extracted using 100% natural. We chose Fragrance oils from Canadian companies that are free of parabens, phthalates, and cruelty-free.
Raw Materials
We raw materials such as whole vanilla beans, exotic spices such a saffron or butterfly pea flowers to add scent and natural colour tint fragrance, if you chose to have colour in your fragrance.
Water
We use a very small amount of distilled water to help blend the notes and help the fragrance evaporate at a slower rate.
